About us

The Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the longest running young professional boards in Chicago.

Established in 1984, the Auxiliary Board provides supportive funds and services to the Lincoln Park Zoological Society, aiding its efforts to improve the zoo.

The Auxiliary Board has over 130 members. Those invited to join this group are between ages 25–40 and are primarily young professionals from the Chicagoland area.

Lincoln Park Zoo is a privately managed institution that depends primarily on the support of its visitors, members, and donors to remain open and free every day. More than three-quarters of the zoo’s operating budget is provided by revenue from its fundraising activities, food service, retail shops, and parking. The remaining portion is provided by a fixed annual subsidy from the Chicago Park District.
